“As a recent member of the audience at In Good Company Dance’s Two River Theater show, not being a dancer myself, watching this performance opened my mind and heart to how movement and dance is truly healing. The performances with poetry woven in were so moving and emotional. The story telling was wonderful and anyone in the audience could take something from it whether relating to personal grief or pain or just acknowledging that we don’t know what people are going through. Because of so much trauma, depression/anxiety in people’s lives today, we need to educate all on the power of dance and movement as another way to cope and learn how to move forward and accept “life”. Too often people turn to medications instead of simply moving and observing art in their everyday lives.”

“I don’t think I can overstate the profound impact in good company dance has had on my life in the past few years. Never a dancer, I had always assumed this art and experience was off limits to me. When I saw the dancers putting together simple choreographer at a fundraising event and the joy and freedom, they exhibited I thought I can't dance but I think I can do this. I had no idea the classes would unlock such a freedom of expression in me. I now have a medium to not only express my emotions but one to process and heal them. And on top of all that it is so freaking fun. I have more confidence joy and even more boldness in my overall living thanks to IGCD. I am a dancer, and I am so grateful for this company.”

"Being part of IGCD has significantly impacted my mental health. Through the “So You Think You Can’t Dance series” I’ve gained self-confidence and courage. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have this resource for women. or men, to connect through a non-judgmental dance experience. It’s more than the physical benefit of movement, it’s also about feeling welcome and encouraged no matter what level you’re at. It’s a safe place to relieve stress, embrace oneself, to engage and free the mind while connecting with women/men of all ages, shapes, and ability. IGCD really does serve to heal and uplift the heart, mind, body & soul. "
