The performance will feature In Good Company Dance repertory choreographed by several of the company members as well as the premiere of a short evening length dance performance called “Our D.A.N.C.E with Amara”. A collaboration with an incredible woman, dancer, former expressive arts therapist, and author Amara Riccio. The dances are inspired by the book she co-wrote (some days only with the use of her thumbs), “This is Why I D.A. N.C.E” and personal story as a traumatic brain injury survivor suffering with a mystery illness which leaves her voice, eyesight, bodily motion, and ability to swallow compromised. Through all this Amara spends her time finding ways to uplift others. In Good Company Dance is honored to be the bodies and voices to share her story and desire to inspire others to live life with joy and inclusion for all. A portion of the tickets sales from this event will go to the Riccio family non-profit Riccio Pick-Me-Ups, a 501(3)(c) nonprofit based in Howell, New Jersey with a mission to provide F.R.E.E. (Financial, Recreational, Emotional, and Educational) support to individuals and families with complex health needs.
